Vistacom Helps Save Lives in Northeastern Pennsylvania
Allentown, PA (January 31, 2015)— Vistacom will host its second annual community blood drive in partnership with the American Red Cross on February 27, 2015 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. The drive will be held at the Vistacom Headquarters on 1902 Vultee Street in Allentown, Pennsylvania.
Inclement weather and flu outbreaks are causing many donors to cancel appointments. With approximately one in five people entering a hospital in need of blood, donors are always in constant demand. Patients with cancer, victims of accidents, and those undergoing surgery are just some of the recipients who benefit from blood donations. By donating just one pint of blood, you have the potential to save up to three lives.
Our goal is to see 40 donors. Anyone who is at least 17 years old, weighs a minimum of 110 pounds and is in generally good health can donate blood. The entire process takes about an hour and all blood types are needed. Donors should bring a photo ID. Vistacom will provide a bag lunch to everyone who donates. Donors will also be entered into a drawing for a $500 Visa Gift Card.
The American Red Cross NEPA Region continues to provide support to the Pennsylvania State Police and additional law enforcement agencies during an ongoing investigation following a fatal shooting of a state police trooper and critically wounding a second trooper on the evening of September 12, 2014, outside of the State Police barracks in Blooming Grove Township, Pennsylvania.
