Immersive Technology Center at Alvin H. Butz Headquarters

Posted in: Corporate

Construction Management firm, Alvin H. Butz, Inc. has a long, successful tradition of building in the Lehigh Valley and has been continuously owned and operated in the Lehigh Valley by the Butz family, with the 6th generation in line to preserve the tradition and reputation of the organization.

Vistacom worked with Alvin H. Butz to create a powerful presentation space within their main conference room at the company’s headquarters in Allentown, PA.

“As we proceeded through the discovery process with the Butz team, and we recommended a rear projection solution which really fit their needs,” stated Rich Mullen, senior account manager at Vistacom.

The final solution includes an NEC PH1202HL, laser-phosphor projection unit, which is positioned just above seated height and allows the participant to immerse themselves into the high resolution image.

The user experience is very similar to a full immersive solution but without the use of 3D glasses of peripheral processing.

“The solution was designed in such a way to provide the viewer a unique perspective through the adaptive use of imaging programs like Autdesk Revit,” stated Mullen, “The user experience is very similar to a full immersive solution but without the use of 3D glasses of peripheral processing.”

“Our new immersive technology center allows us to show clients in 3D how their building is going to look before we begin building. Doctors will see the layout of an exam room and weigh in on the placement of equipment by seeing a life-size visual of the room. We’ve also used this immersive experience to help fund-raisers of colleges, universities and non-profits imagine how a space can be used to showcase sponsors, and to attract people to their facilities,” said Greg L. Butz, President &

CEO of Alvin H. Butz, Inc. “We envision using this space to also show prospective clients how our expertise in the use of new technologies can help save them money on a project by identifying issues and potential solutions in 3D before a shovel ever hits the ground.”
