Vistacom Tech Expo 2016: Bigger and Better Than Ever

As you may know, Vistacom recently held the Vistacom Tech Expo 2016, which is now in its ninth year. There were many exhibitors showcasing literally hundreds of products and solutions. The event enabled our prospects and clients to have very detailed discussions with the exhibitors, so that they could learn as much as possible about the latest communication and presentation technologies.

This year showed many firsts for Vistacom. The event took place at the Valley Forge Casino Resort, which is in the western suburbs of Philadelphia. The keynote speaker was not an AV industry pundit. Instead, it was former Eagles Kicker, David Akers. He delivered an inspirational speech, which focused on perseverance, attitude, and teamwork – both on the football field and off.

The show floor was busy, and it provided the opportunity to see old friends, as well as meet some new ones. Our sales representatives and vendors worked steadily in a rather wild atmosphere.

All of the technologies that I got to see and play with will really impact businesses and organizations, but I thought that I would share some that really stood out.

Paul Reigner, the Account Executive on the Vistacom Control Room Team, was in charge of showing the features and benefits of Barco OpSpace, which is a new operations space for the control room market that drastically improves the human-to-machine interface.

Shure’s new steerable beam forming ceiling microphone array was really stunning. I was really impressed with this microphone system, which is a perfect fit for that space with flexible furniture and conferencing needs.

Christie Digital was exhibiting their latest offerings such as the Phoenix video wall processor, as well as their MicroTiles, which are known for their amazing image quality and vibrant, true-to-life colors.

The term unified communications is very popular right now. Players in that market, such as Cisco and Polycom, were on hand to show their latest implementations to augment these uninterrupted forms of communication from a phone to a full-size boardroom.

Crestron and AMX by Harman were also showing attendees how easy it is to control audio and video systems and move that information around a room, building, campus, or the world.

All of the feedback about the Vistacom Tech Expo 2016 has been incredibly positive, with both exhibitors and attendees stating that the event was extremely productive and memorable.
