With more organizations allowing employees to work remote (and even some organizations made up entirely of remote workers), audiovisual (AV) design within an office — and outside of it — requires the foresight to meet the needs of today with what these organizations may need into the future.

If you haven’t yet considered, or at least thought about, implementing AV over IP (AVoIP) solutions into your technology landscape, you may be behind the curve. While AVoIP solutions are not for everyone, it is worth noting that the industry is predicting a trend toward an increased amount of AV signals residing on an Ethernet IP network.

Even though LED (light-emitting diode) technology is one of the oldest display technologies, its rise to fame did not begin until the late 2000s. LEDs are a particular type of diode that convert electrical energy into light, like tiny lightbulbs (but requiring far less power to operate). Over the years, as the technology progressed, diodes got smaller, requiring the technology that was formerly hand-made to be machine-operated, which in turn also made LED more affordable (and more energy efficient).
